To all who make Vids

I want to start making vids of my car end editing them on my computer. I have a Sony MINIDVD camera and I am having trouble taking the files from the MINIDVD to my computer, anyone have this problem, and how do I do it? Thanks for the help.

you need an editing program ie: Pinnacle Studio...thats what i use and firewire port then you should be good..

Ok, I have Windows Movie Maker, and I can get it hooked up to my computer, and I can actually view the dvds on my computer, but when I try to import them...it doesnt fly.

You need to capture the videos before importing, unless you are transfering via streaming usb or firewire, as far as i know. When i get my vids on my computer, i hook up my dv cam to the cable jack on my pinnacle capture card, switch to playback on the camera, open movie maker, bring up the capture screen, hit start capture, and press play on the camera. then just stop capturing when you're done and click finish.
