Well changed the oil in the Cobra and now have a slite ticking noise. I put 5w20 mobile 1. Should I move to a 10w40 or 20w50?, since the car get's driven pretty hard. It has 5500 miles on it. Please tell me what you think.
P.S. It is not low on oil either.

I run Amsoil 0w30 and don't plan on ever changing to anything different :-D

 The guides over heat and wear prematurely in our cars(Mostly in the left head)...
I got a slight tick fairly early 5k--- no mods!!

But the 10w30 Royal purple has helped...
Not totaly gone but much better...
No longer an ambarasment at the drive throughs(bouncing off the brick wall from the left fender opening)...

Of note...

I freaking totally rocked this car's world at TWS drivers school!!!

And even after getting it up to 112 c it did not go back to the tick loudness I had heard before...

I say give it a try ...

But do not ignore climate considerations!!!

I live in/near Houston, Texas .... it was -8 last night in my home town(Syracuse, NY)..... and it hit 79 here in Texas TODAY!!! in January!!!...

I won't run a 20w50 here...

So if you are in a colder climate than I am ..... keep that in mind...

An ultra high quality 10w30 full synth is working for me...

Although Ford specifies 5w-20, there's been lots of conversation about the appropriateness of this oil for the Terminators. The concensus seemed to be that 5w-30 is better suited and will protect better.

If anyone read the oil post awhile back, there was tons of info on this subject.
After reading everything i'll always run 0w30 or 5w30 in this engine.
I've ran royal purple, mobil 1, and amsoil.
Amsoil is imo the best hands down but RP worked really great honestly.
Mobil 1 on the other hand.......lmao
What i mean by this was, my engine just doesn't seem to like Mobil 1 as well as the other two, call me crazy but i could tell a difference(gas mileage also).
Now maybe this is all in my head but i'll never run mobil 1 again.
This doesn't mean mobil 1 is sh*t, i just had better results with the other 2.
