So I need to replace mine does the whole trans need to come apart, or can I just pull the bell housing off and press the new one in? I've been reading the whole thing needs to come apart and some say just pull the bell off and press the new one in.

I got a trans but the sleeve looks like it broke clean as heck, so I need to figure this out asap!

The front plate comes off that sits behind the bell housing. Take it off and press out and in the new one. The entire transmission does not need to come apart.

I just did this earlier in the week. You just need to remove the bell housing from the transmission by the 12 bolts. Once removed you can press the new retainer sleeve in.
