Before I start, this is my first post here ever. I am a regular at MM.net and I have posted this topic on MM.net about an hour ago. I felt that since this topic is very important to me, I should post it here at well since this is more of a techincally oriented community. Now before everyone starts screaming for the Stallion, let's go through all the options. I found three suitable convertors through Summit Racing so I just wanted to know what everyone's opinion was on them. All the ones listed below have a stall rating of 3000.

This one I am inparticuarly interested in. I've heard some very good things about B&M products and it is the least expensive out of any 3000 rpm stall torque convertor I have seen.

The next two I've never heard of before. Anyone know anyone who's used either brand before?

TCI Automotive

Hughes Performance

Lastly, the Stallion Torque convertor...

I've heard everything there is about the Stallion. Anyone know anything about the other three mentioned?

Before you can make a fair judgement, you need to collect other data on the products you mention. Here's a few questions to debate.

With respect to the competition you list ^ there, have you determined the torque multiplication? Have you considered size, weight, and reduction in parasitic drag? Electronic controls? Lock up? Non-Lock up? Tolerance for wider variety of tranny fluids? Warranty? Availability in triple disc? Will the manufacturer adjust stall speed if your needs change within two years of purchase?

Just a few ideas, carry on.

Steven,

The only problem I personally know of with TQ converters was with Art Carr. Although he does not make them. I have have had great luck with the Stallion in my car. But like Mac said, do some additional research.
