The car is a 03 cobra with kb 2.2 longtubes, o/r bassani x pipe, sra 373, center force dual friction, 16 psi , dynoed 540rwhp on mustang dyno on a pump gas tune from ats.
1st time out it temp was 62-65 deg ,went back to back 7.5 at 95mph 1/8th mile
60ft was in the 1.65-1.67
2nd time out temp was 82 deg
made 2 passes
1- 1.68 60ft 7.24 @ 97mph good amount of clutch smell at the return road
2- 1.73 60ft 7.31 @ 98mph very heavy clutch smell on return road
The first outing there were a few bugs I was still fighting and the dyno only showed 507rwhp
The revision was done prior to the 2nd outing and the bugs were cleared. The tune was revised and it made 540rwhp at 6600 when he let out. I know the timing was bumped to 19.5 total from 17 and a few other things were tweaked.
All runs were made with 28x10.5 et slicks with 17lbs of air in them and leaving at 3600-3800 rpm. Shifts were made in the 6000-6200 rpm . I could def feel the clutch slipping on the 7.3 run. I checked the clutch on sunday, the cable was really tight as the clutch was releasing what I thought was real high say 2" from the top, instead of the bottom. I put a firewall adjuster on it and put the cable in the middle hook on the clutch quadrant. Now its about 2-2.5" from the floor and feels really good. The plans are to hit the 6s with a tubular k-member and front coil overs. The car has kyb adjustable struts and rear shocks, stock rear control arms car even has quad shocks LOL. If I can leave harder I would imagine it would sqeeze out at least a 7.1 , Im not the best shifter either so theres at least a tenth on the table. Let me know what you guys think- and any advice. This is a daily driver with some weight reduction on race day rear seats , spare tire, jack, rear mat, and sway bar front.
