The car is a 03 cobra with kb 2.2 longtubes, o/r bassani x pipe, sra 373, center force dual friction, 16 psi , dynoed 540rwhp on mustang dyno on a pump gas tune from ats.
1st time out it temp was 62-65 deg ,went back to back 7.5 at 95mph 1/8th mile
60ft was in the 1.65-1.67

2nd time out temp was 82 deg
made 2 passes
1- 1.68 60ft 7.24 @ 97mph good amount of clutch smell at the return road
2- 1.73 60ft 7.31 @ 98mph very heavy clutch smell on return road

The first outing there were a few bugs I was still fighting and the dyno only showed 507rwhp
The revision was done prior to the 2nd outing and the bugs were cleared. The tune was revised and it made 540rwhp at 6600 when he let out. I know the timing was bumped to 19.5 total from 17 and a few other things were tweaked.
All runs were made with 28x10.5 et slicks with 17lbs of air in them and leaving at 3600-3800 rpm. Shifts were made in the 6000-6200 rpm . I could def feel the clutch slipping on the 7.3 run. I checked the clutch on sunday, the cable was really tight as the clutch was releasing what I thought was real high say 2" from the top, instead of the bottom. I put a firewall adjuster on it and put the cable in the middle hook on the clutch quadrant. Now its about 2-2.5" from the floor and feels really good. The plans are to hit the 6s with a tubular k-member and front coil overs. The car has kyb adjustable struts and rear shocks, stock rear control arms car even has quad shocks LOL. If I can leave harder I would imagine it would sqeeze out at least a 7.1 , Im not the best shifter either so theres at least a tenth on the table. Let me know what you guys think- and any advice. This is a daily driver with some weight reduction on race day rear seats , spare tire, jack, rear mat, and sway bar front.

Good god man 17psi in the slicks! I run mine at 10-11psi. A 1.6-1.7 sixty on an sra cobra on full slicks is weak, get a clutch and launch that bitch harder!

Well if your going to run that much air in them you might as well switch to a drag radial. with 17psi you take away alot of the slicks flex and give that help them bite. All slicks and low psi will walk (stiff walls walk alot less) you just have to learn not to chase it. Also are you running skinnies? That makes a big difference in stability when running slicks.

Yeah Im running a small skinny up front. They are soft side walls on the slicks. what psi do you guys recommend running? I used to run 10psi in them in my fox car but it was lighter.

I ran 11ish psi on my stiff sidewall slicks 28x10.5x15.

SRA, spec 3+ clutch and was able to get a couple 1.43 60'.

Food for thought.

I checked the DA of the day compared to the first trip and the corrected times and mph were almost 2 tenths off and about 2mph.
Example - car went 7.2 at 98mph corrected DA time and mph is 6.99-7.0 at 100-101
So if I factor in the slipping clutch and leaving with a mild 1.55 or so my new goal is a 6.7-6.8 as it sits and a 6.4-6.5 with tubular front suspension and battery relocation. Does this sound do-able?

I did just coil overs on 90/10 struts on a fox car picked up 3 tenths. Changed nothing else, car was an automatic. If we drop just 2 tenths off I will be happy

6.4-6.5's would net you around a 10.1 or so 1/4 mile.

That'd be a fast 2.2 KB..

Never heard of a 6.4 car going 10.1 or even a 10.5 LOL

Of course all et calculators say the same, given the car is 100% effi and no the car is shifted at the same rpm everytime. Remember my car is a 6 spd so theres room for errors. Im just setting a goal of 6.5-6.4 if I go 6.9 I will be happy as a lark. Im trying not to disappoint myself , lol I honestly belive theres more in the car as the low 60ft and good air it will go a 7.0 , the normal 60ft these cars are hitting are in the 1.47-1.5+ mine was a sad high 1.6 and my launch rpm is much lower then most 3500 -3600 something like that. Hell if it hits a 7.1 with a little more launch rpm and lower tire pressure then Im improving and thats the goal. Thanks for the input

My 6.8 car goes 10.7 and its just a crappy eaton with no top end power, a KB car that can go 6.4 should be a a mid to low 10 car easily. C mart is a little closer on his guess than you think.
