this how-to mod they have on focusfanatics.com, I did it to my car and accidently broke the screw that holds the counterweight, and now i found out that i dont really like the new feel of the shifting, so i cant really put the counterweight back on cause i cant seem to be able to pull the screw out of where it got broken... it sucks, im not even sure its as reliable to drive without the counterweight on...

any suggestions???

Buy a screw extractor set at sears, or pay a machinist to remove it.

Keep the parts the car comes with on unless you are upgrading the piece. Meaning dont take anything off unless you are modding.

The counterweight does NOTHING except give the shifter a firmer feel. It won't hurt anything to not have it on.

a firmer/annoying/clunky feel, especially on 5th and 6th, but thats subjective i guess... anyways, i was able to pull out that screw,
now to install it back on, i need the Nylon bushing, steel insert/bushing...
and ford doesnt sell parts for this tranny, they sell the whole tranny as is, so no help there.

anyways, u guys know where to get those parts...
i'll post a pic to show u wat i need exactly

thanks
