Transmission Build-Up

I have a Tremec T-56 Manual Transmission (TUEWT1260) that I had installed on my 2002 Mustang GT, and I was curious if a transmission shop can rebuild this transmission to handle more power or if I am out of luck and just have to buy a new transmission?

Almost anything can be rebuilt with stronger parts.

Just any transmission shop? No. Use one of the many companies that specialize in the T56.

yes there are definitely upgrades to be had: 26-spline input shaft, billet tob retainer, billet shift keys, bronze fork pads, etc. but personally I would only go to a transmission shop that is a tremec dealer.

The t56 isn't hard to rebuild yourself.

Look up Texas Drivetrain Performance. I haven't used them yet, but I've read good things about them. They aren't too far from Fort Worth I think. They specialize in the t56, according to their website.
