transmission

im having transmission problems it shifts hard off and on by itself my buddy says it could be the converter whats a good converter to get its a daily driver and i tow planing to get a vortec soon its a 93

How many miles are on the truck? I wanna say I think there's a modulator valve in these trannies and I'd look at that first for replacement.

thanks for the suggestion i'll look in to that the truck has 115 thousand miles on it

Yeah I bet the tranny itself is still okay... mine has just under a 100k and the tranny is still in good shape... fluid isn't burnt at all and shifts perfectly fine. I run a full synthetic in mine also to help out.

It's possible... but more common for a mod valve to go bad.
