Here are the very preliminary results: But first some background, I started out (low mileage 2001 cobra 3650 trans and very notchy) with the factory shifter and oil. Then I went with the Pro5 shifter which definitely took out the sloppiness compared to stock shifter. Then I changed to the mobile 1 with secret sauce, that was a little better but still pretty notchy. Then I switched to GM synchromesh, that smoothed things out pretty good but it only lasted about 2.5k miles and it started getting notchy again-----others have said how the GM synchromesh starts out good but then fades out. Then I changed to a combo of mobile 1 and dex/merc. multi use, --That did not work. So now Ive changed to this Tremec Synchromesh and---------just on a couple short drives it has really smoothed the shifting. Upshifts and downshifts quite a bit smoother but it didnt help gear whine, in fact gear whine may even be louder although the synchros when downshifting are quieter. No it does not shift like butter and I never believe anyone who says their Tremec shifts like butter lol. Im going on a road trip in a couple weeks so Ill be better able to give an assessment on this smoother shifting and if it stays that way. Forgot to mention this tremec stuff is almost completely clear and feels a little thinner than the GM stuff but at the same time if feels more sticky. It kind of smells like ATF mixed with a little bit of regular gear oil-------Not that any of that is scientific or matters, lol.
