all my gears are fine on my tri-ax shifter except 5th gear, it grinds and doesnt fully engage fully always. prob only 20% of the time it will actually go in fully n smooth with out grinding. any ideas?? could it be just the upper stoper screw on it or would that effect the other gears

yeah, go from gear to gear, and make sure that there is a very small gap in between each and you should be straight.

I had a very similar problem. It was my stop bolts. They may have been right when I first put it on, but the vibration loosened them, and then it was blocking.

I ended up taking the shifter off and going back to stock. I still couldn't find 3rd any easier than with the stock shifter.

Check out the Tremec web site. They recommend to back the stops out all the way. I was having some trouble with my Tri-Ax until I readjusted the stops all the way out. Now it shifts a lot smoother.
