Who has changed or knows how to change the spark plugs on a 97 v-8 SHO? How involved is it and is it a pain in the ass??

The car has 102,000 miles and runs like a champ. This is the best ford my father has every owned. He never put a red cent into it besides regular maintenance.

still, get'em welded! V6 SHO motors are cheap and dime a dozen V8 ones aren't! If he or your hasn't read about cam failure do so! They can go at anytime!

Take Ryan's advice and get your cams welded! It's a cheap precautionary measure for a potentially deadly (engine wise) matter!

I agree with all of the above. The V8 is an interference engine and if one of the sprockets slips you've got valves and pistons colliding! As said before, rebuilts are rare as turtle teeth and new engines(if you could find one) are super expensive. Get your cams welded ASAP. As stated there often is no warning that anything is wrong and then bang, you've got a 3,500lb. boat anchor! V8SHO.com has a list of reputable people all around the country. DON'T PUT IT OFF.
