what boost do you plan to run .. if at 20 or below i don't see any reason to go to a larger 2.9

A buddy of mine made 800rwhp on 24psi on a 2.9L Whipple with E85 and supporting mods. Non Crusher.

The TVS is a great blower but I dont think it will compete with a 2.9 once you start to turn up the boost.

I debated over the TVS or 2.9 as well. I ended up going with the 2.9 because the room to grow is very large. I have NO regrets.

uh oh dont let the tvs guys see this. They will hang you for saying the 2.9 is better!

If they make a 3.3 tvs, then I will sell my 2.9.

the 2.9 is better than the 2.3 tvs. lol, perhaps the 2.3 tvs is better than the 2.3 whipple. but such a small disp. blower cant compete with the 2.9 lol

You start reading the newspaper rather then living under it my friend

My car had a 2.9 whipple went 11.1 upgraded to a tvs 2.3 and went 10.9's same mph less boost :)

Wut

The threads about "on e85". Spin that 2.9 to where it thrives and see what happens. Sounds like you were on boost/timing limited gas tunes, those times are pretty slow

there's not much potential there. ofcourse if it's a lighter unit spinning 12psi/more efficient. then the heavier 14psi design, what's your point. Your 2.3 & my 2.3 would explode throwing the #s you could at the 2.9..

for sure if you're going for bigger #s, more power. Get the 2.9.. if you want a nice "cruise blower" then get the TVS is that fair without getting into details on 11.1/10.9 time slips..?

c6 has it, the 2.9 is like a dragon compared to the bearded lizard (2.3) ofcourse the smaller one does better with low #s.
dragon is ment for big displacement.

Whipple was on 21-22 psi with 19 degrees timing pump gas/torco
TVS was on 19psi and 18 degrees timingpump gas/torco

All MPH was between 134-137.......On 17 inch worn out et steets.....and if 10.90 at 136 is slow in a 3800lb convertible with irs and no drag suspension, Then im in the wrong business

You're not in the wrong business....just using the wrong fuel. Gas/torco is a joke versus properly set up e85. You'll see the light one day

You really want to argue 93/torco is not as good as e85? Or running 11s at 135+ is probably not optimized? Lol. Forget John, I think Courtney would out drive you
