Calling all SVTP Brew Masters of all types to include beer, wine, mead, ect. Let us congregate and discuss this most ancient and honorable art form. I for one have brewed beer and current mead. Lets have a roll call and see if anyone else here home brews.

I've been brewing for a couple years.

Currently making a Belgian Tripel aged on Lemon Zest and Ginger root and some hard apple cider aged on Cinnamon sticks and apple wood chips.

You dont need a house. I live in an apartment and right now im brewing 2-three gallon, 2-one gallon containers of mead in a small closet. Thats enough to last some time.

I've been wanting to start brewing for years, but haven't really had the spare time or space. I'm also interested in doing to very small batch distillation, but that can be a bit illegal.

I once seen a distilled water maker ...... that could be valuable. Its really not that time/space consuming depending on how large a scale you want to go. A 5 gallon batch takes maybe an hour or two to brew and a small spot to sit for a month or so. Im warning you now though once you start you will want to give millers or budweiser a run for their money lol.

I'm in the process of selling all of my wine and beer making equipment.
Calling it quits after about six years of making wine and beer brewing. The last couple years I've found that I suck at the hobby. Half of my brews turn out crappie and the other half isn't anything to brag about.
Besides all that I really don't drink much these days.

not at my post...
My uncles and grandfathers used to make shine and beer, unfortunately the grandfathers have passed on and the uncles have all but stopped. I really am interested more in making moonshine/whiskey, but may try my hand at beer. Especially since it certainly seems more legal :D

Big homebrewer here. Been brewing for about 3 years now, into all-grain finally and perfecting my technique.

BTW, you can definitely brew in an apartment, as that's all I've ever done.

Also going through the motions of hopefully opening a nanobrewery in the not distant future.

nanobrewery?

I really want to get into it. I do have a friend that does it. He has made a stout, which turned out wonderful. He has been working on an imperial stout, which I cannot wait to try.

nanobrewery?

Think of it as a really small microbrewery.

Unfortunately large brewing equipment is very expensive, so I'm planning to brew on nights/weekends until the demand is large enough for me to quit my day job.

If anyone has any homebrew questions feel free to hit me up. I actually help several of my friends brew with my stuff, just so they can learn/experience it.

If you are the type that appreciates a quality beer you will be hooked from the start. I have been brewing beer for about a year and one thing I tell everyone to start with a beer kit that you enjoy from a local brew supply store.

I say this because a lot of people that get into brewing and get right out are the ones that think they can just throw anything togeather and expect it to tastes good.

As far as time goes its not really that time consuming. I almost always do mine either firday or saturday night while drinking beer and it only takes about 2 hours. Bottling can take another hour or so but once you get into kegging it's cake.

This thread motivated me to pull out the Mr. Beer kit I've had since Christmas two years ago. I'm not expecting anything good and I'm just going by the instructions for now. We'll see how it all turns out.

My dad, grandfather and some buddies have been making wine for years. In my basement at home (my parents house). And it's pretty damn good. He mixes zinfondel with sangiovese. This years was a little on the sweet side, not our best, but we make a good vino. We made moonshine too with the left over grapes. Stuff ****s you up lol
