Does anyone know if it is worth it to smooth out the roughness on the inside of a upper manifold? Mine will be off the car and was thinking of smoothing it out. Was wondering if anyone else has done this.

Thanks
Ed

Just doing the upper I dont think will help. But if your bored, I say go for it.
As stated by Kezell. No gains by just "cleaning" the upper plenum.

What I do is completely re-shape the feed ports, delete the fuel rail bosses, clean up the extra casting and remove material from the top of the runners to add upper plenum volume. The outcome is the "polished" upper plenum.

Awesome job. But I was talking about the upper manifold. I was adding a spacer to mine. Was wondering if cleaning it up any would do any thing?

Thanks

I've heard of those manifold spacers on the vq35's in 350z/g35. They picked up like 10 horsepower roughly because of just the gain in volume and the resistance to heat transfer to the upper manifold. I've wondered myself if this would be worth it in our cars or not.

Like previously stated, polishing the bottom side of the upper will not result in any gains.
