Did any of you read or hear about this? This is what really starts to make me upset. I know there’s plenty of other things going on... but it just makes me think about him and wonder that “a veteran who served his country has/had to worry about crap like this in his own backyard.”

Karma is real with this one. The guy died two days later.

Here’s the story without the advertisements in the way, covered from that link pasted below:

DAVIE, Fla. (FOX 13) - Police in South Florida said a veteran was shot and killed in a road rage incident when he tried to apologize for cutting off another car in traffic.

Investigators said 41-year-old retired U.S. Marine Keith Byrne was driving his work truck in Davie on Friday afternoon when he accidentally cut off a BMW before both cars approached a red light.

Byrne, who was on the phone with a friend at the time, said he was going to say sorry to the other driver, WSVN reports.

But when he rolled down his window to apologize, a passenger in the BMW, identified as 22-year-old Andre Sinclair, got out of the car and pointed his gun at Byrne.

Police said Sinclair's girlfriend was driving the BMW, while their 19-month-old daughter sat in the back seat.

“The driver, Mr. Sinclair’s girlfriend, had grabbed him by the shirt, tried to prevent him from getting out of the vehicle,” Davie Police Lt. Mark Leone said. “He did get out armed with a gun and went towards the work truck.”

Sinclair shot Byrne in the chest; Byrne then fired back with his own weapon, hitting Sinclair twice.

“Mr. Byrne was acting in self defense when he ultimately fired back at Mr. Sinclair,” Leone said.

The friend who had been on the phone with Byrne at the time heard the gunshots and called police.

Byrne died at the scene inside of his truck; Sinclair was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died two days later.

According to the Sun-Sentinel, Leone said if Sinclair had survived, “we would have identified him as the primary aggressor, and he would have ultimately been charged with murder.”

Byrne's family said he will be buried with full military honors at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth later this month.

What a piece of shit. Good on the Marine for putting two into the waste of oxygen while having one in his chest.

South Florida for you. Some weird ass ****ers on the road down here. And the further south you go the more Mad Max shit you see.
People will lose their shit if you honk at them when they are sitting on a green light cause they were on the phone.

I feel bad for the veteran and his family. Such a senseless death.

Let this be a lesson to anyone that sees or hears this story. Get off your ****ing phone when you're driving and concentrate on the road. You never know what kind of psychopath you might piss off without even realizing it.

It’s a crazy ****ing state. I had to call the cops on 2 guys who were following me a few months ago. I’m still not exactly sure what I did to piss them off to that extent.

Semper Fi Marine. God Bless. And God Speed.

over reacted and now two families are without a father/grandfather. Typical Florida youngsters for ya.

I've been in similar situations before and after that crap I will never get too attached to these cars again. It's just not worth it.

So shitty. I really dont understand road rage. I get cut off all the time. Ive even had to jump curbs in my cobra to avoid dumb people. I just move on with my life. No sense in getting angry about it.

I'm going to take the high ground.

    1) Veteran shouldn't of been on the phone while driving. In most cases this is illegal for a good reason, case in point. He's an idiot. Clearly he was distracted while driving and could've killed someone (possibly BMW guy)
    2) Idiot BMW guy shouldn't of reacted that way, especially with your lady/baby in the car
    3) Unfortunately the only conclusion out of this scenario is two fathers dead and two families widowed.
