Vibe has been fixed!!!

Had a replacement drive shaft installed by
my local Ford dealership today. I got to
see the old shaft and the new shaft side
by side. The old shaft had two very large
balancing weights spot welded to each end
of the shaft. These must have been 3 or 4+
ounces of weights and they were both on the
same side of the shaft. These weights were big!
2 x 3 inches and 1/8th inch thick.

The shafts had the same paint markings and
yellow dots but had a different bar code number.
Best of all the new shaft had no extra weights
welded on.

The tech also was instructed to "neutralize"
the exhaust. He broke the bolts loose, gave it
a good shake, tightened it up, sent me on my way.

NO VIBE - NO VIBE - NO VIBE!!!

I didn't realize how much it was buzzing at
75 - 80 mph till it was fixed.

I am pleased!

I wish it worked for me. They did the same on my car and I still have the vibe. It's good to hear of your success though. :whine:

The new DS fixed the vibe on my car, as well. However, there are others that had the new DS installed and still had the vibe. Docs03 was one. He had to have his IRS replaced! needspeed - you may be in the same boat. Try getting in touch w/ Docs03.

Ford messed up with my driveshaft. I had my father take it in to get the driveshaft replaced and they replaced it, with the WRONG one...they have the car yet again, and put the right ds in...now they cant get the allignment right... these new cobras are a piece of sh**. NOT..I love them!!! Cant wait to drive the "new" new Cobra again!

Just had my driveshaft replaced on friday for the vibe. Guess what, I still got it. Its going back on Monday. Not to mention that my lumber hasn't worked since in got the car. I told the dealer to fix it when they did the driveshaft. I picked up the car and asked if it was fixed and they tried telling me that the cobra doesn't have power lumber. I told them it does and they said I was wrong. I had to physically go out and show them the buttons and they were dumbfounded, or maybe just dumb I don't know.

Second that: my new ds part # is also: 2R3Z*4602*BA

The vibe is now gone.

I do have my dealer invoice with the part number listed...would the bar code be on here? There are a lot of random numbers. If one of you guys tells me what the first number may be or what sequence of #\letters, I will be happy to post.

I checked the part # for my replacement driveshaft and it is the same one you guys mentioned above and I still have the vibe same as before. So either not all driveshafts of that part number are balanced properly, or there is a second reason why we have the vibe.
