Interesting Video I found on Youtube.

Spiral Grinding of Thermal Spray Coatings on Ford Mustang GT500 Shelby Cylinder Liners

This video demonstrates the CNC double pass spiral grinding of Plasma Transferred Wire Arc (PTWA) coated cylinder liners by University of Michigan mechanical engineering students Ryan Boyle, Kevin Chu, Brandon Evans, and Gregory Galyanov in the fall term of 2011.

warrior, al
Good find. That must be some hard a$$ stuff. I thought the 2013s had the material sprayed directly on the aluminum bore of the block and then finished.
Either way I like seeing that stuff.

It does. This is not a GT500 application. The liner pictured may have been treated with the same PTWA process, but it is not a production 2011-13 Shelby application.
