The VIN on the car I am picking up tomorrow is 1FAFP49Y93F300066. How can I tell from the VIN when the car was built or what number it was in production?

One of the Ford insiders may have other information, unique to this year, but I don't think your VIN has much to do about the "sequence" number or build number. If the Cobras are the ONLY Mustangs being produced, at this time, then they should be sequential. If other Mustangs are being built, anywhere, we'll have to wait for SVT to mail official numbers and birth days... That will be several months after the last Cobra rolls down the assembly line.

Actually that is the 11th character, 3 would be the character that defines year. So 3=2003, other than that it is MOSTLY correct. Only a coupla other mistakes. ;-)
