VMP 72MM Throttle body

I've got a Gen 2 with a 67MM TB but I was wondering if getting VMPs 72MM TB is worth it? Is anybody running the 72 on their Gen 2 and if so is there any change in power and driveability?

Driveability is the same. Not sure on power increase. I changed way too many items at once.

Yeah I talked with BJ about 3 weeks ago about switching to the Gen IIR but I'm not able to make the switch at the time

I am curious as well. If I swap it will be from the vmp 67 and 123 MAF to a vmp 72 and 140+MAF.

id say 5-10rwhp over the 67....add in a 140cj or PMAS's new 148 25-30rwhp

That's the plan. The new PMAS and 72. 30whp is a nice little gain.

Not sure about the 72 but the CJ mono is worth about 20 over the twin 67. That was with a GEN 2, 2.4 upper, JLT 127, and x-pipe.

So your saying the CJ mono out performes the VMP 67mm by 20 rwhp? I have read where the 67mm is within 50 characters of the mono blade and that's not worth 20 extra hp

It's not even close the CJ mono may even outflow the new twin 72. This was back to back dyno pulls with the only change being t/b data. Boost also went up. The twin 67 is a choke point for a gen 2 tvs imo.

Very interesting. Thanks for sharing the details. Not many people run the mono and I'm assuming because of tuning/drivability issues but may have to be revisited.

But my only issue is for every part I have bought and installed, The market has made something better. The game gets old quick.

I thought monoblade drivability issues were tuner correctable?

It'll always be touchy. There's a lot of airflow on tip in with a large single blade compared to a twin blade throttle body.

I run the little fr 65mm and have contemplated going to the mono but don't want to deal with the surging issues again i had with the bigger intakes for an extra 20 whp. Whipple makes the most expensive intake and there is a reason why.

Very nice graph as now I will be looking at the CJ mono. Love to put it with a JLT 148 CAI but my tuner says they are a pain in the a$$ to tune. My car currently is at 781 so I was thinking adding these will put me over the 800.
