im about to install 255 walbro fp's ,also some 60# injectors ,FPR on 97 fuel rails. my question is can i just drop the pumps in or do i have to upgrade anything else?

If you have the install kit you can just drop them in. I suggest adding a stainless Y-fitting in place of the factory plastic one though.
Some guys have run into issues when installing the fuel pressure regulator where they no longer can control fuel pressure because the return line is inadequate. This is remedied by upgrading the return line into a larger line. However you will not know if this is an issue until after you upgrade the pumps and the regulator.
