...I was quite impressed with the collaborative efforts of Walker Racing of Bell Canyon and B&D Racing of Canoga Park. Not to be outdone, the X2C Motorsports of Van Nuys camp offered much of the same. Kudos to both parties for an event well done.
Jonas did not make the 12's. He needs more extensive mods. But, then again, he showed up for the final 25 minutes of the event, so he missed the cooler air and the better track prep.
Mad props to Walkerz Racing, as usual. I'd especially like to thank Adam for crawling under my car to disconnect, and then reconnect my sway bar. I really think that helped my times. Also, much thanks to Dean and his wife for bringing and cooking burgers and such for the group.
I learned something today. My car doesn't like power shifts. My first two runs, I power shifted 2-3 and 3-4, and ran a 13.00@103 and a 12.95@104. Those were my lowest traps EVER at LACR with a clean run (no missed shifts). For the rest of the day I just speed shifted, and the results were:
12.53@113 w/1.94 60' (hotlap, 9mins after 12.95 run)
12.57@113 w/1.93 60' (bracket race, red-lighted, lost to Adam)
12.90@112 w/2.16 60' (tried launching @ 3100... didn't work out)
12.58@113 w/1.94 60' (weather was much warmer now)
All in all a fun day. Can't wait for the next one.
What Sonic Juan said is the truth. The Walker pit is almost as good as being in one's living room. And Dean and Roberta were cooking up a storm using the generator and an electric grill. The giant ice chest has been joined by a second monster chest. There were floor jacksand drive on ramps and air tools and lap top computers and cones to block off the pit spaces and chairs and canopys and and. Quite a spectacle and very impressive. Pleasure to be associated with such a class event within an event.
Trying to find a way to see what my time would be if we were at sea level on Sunday. Someone posted this website is it correct does it make sense. http://www.modulardepot.com/density.php
