Second vote here for Whirlpool. Bought our first set in college around 1998. That set was still alive and kicking (moved them 4 times) when we bought new ones in 2014 (gave old set away). Went with the topload Whirlpool CABRIO's (washer has a low profile agitator) about 2 years ago and haven't had a problem. I love the steam option on the dryer. I put my work clothes in the dryer every morning with a bath towel and a fabric softener sheet while I'm getting ready. Clothes come out like they were ironed. I am NOT an ironing person LOL...

Samsung is cheaply made, and good luck getting customer service. However, they do make good TVs...
