water damage on hood blanket - warranty item?

I've yet to do the hood blanket mod. We've had a few really hard rains here recently, and I already notice some water discoloration on the hood blanket.

Do ya think I'll be able to pitch this as a warranty replacement request? Get a spiffy new blankee and cut out that one?

I'm just wasting time at work...

I say just take the bad-boy off.... thats what I plan to do. My brother (body shop painter) is already working on a coating for the underside of the hood. He can do a few colors.... he has my paint code and will soon paint the sonic blue on a throwaway body piece from another car... he then will apply the temp coating to see how it turns out and hold up to heat.... I will keep you guys posted.
It sure is nice to have a brother that is a bad ass painter. Oh yeah, he has some clearcoat w/ some pearl, gonna do some GHOST FLAMES!!!

Throwaway body piece... is that frm fitted or something?
Not sure what you're meaning, but I'm intrigued.

Although I do like the stock piece.
