Weight reduction on a vert

I recently bought a hard tonnau cover for my vert and was wondering if I could remove the top, frame and motors and just put the cover on. What kind of weight reduction would that give me? Do you think it would be worth it?

Thanks

The car is parked in the garage and although I drive it alot I don't have to drive it on bad weather days, I have another car if needed.
I wonder what the whole top assembly weighs?

Great question.....I don't drive mine in bad weather either. I have read the motor for the top alone is surprisingly heavy.....A car cover for a freak emergency is a fraction of that.

Most car covers are merely water resistant not water proof

The tonnau covers that I've seen have been pretty heavy. My guess is that you'd end up with very little net change in weight.

What is the difference? you are meant to look nice, not to race. I have a hard tonnau too and weight is the last thing on my mind.
