I've been using a chamois so far. I tried an absorber (sp?) once but just couldn't get the hang of it. So I was curious what you guys were using thanks

I use a seamless 100% egyptian Cotton towel. But I recomend getting a towel that is the same color as your car. Here is a pic of my towel.

hissman, do you know where I could find an egyptian cotton black towel? I've been trying the drying process w/ each of these to see how it works.

jackers, on the microfibers do you just dry til it gets too wet, ring it out and then keep going? I've only used microfibers cleaning dust and i tried using one for meguiers (sp?) quick detailer last night which worked all right probablly would have turned out better if I had more light but it was twilight (sp? again)

You can get them at a store like JC penny's, or Nordstram's (sp). Just take them to a drycleaning shop, and Have them cut the seams and stitch them up with 100% cotton thread to keep them from unravelling. The reason for keeping it close to the color of your car is so that if it produces any lint it will not be visible.

From what I've read, most of the professional detailers are now using microfiber towels, they're not supposed to scratch the paint or anything, so who knows.

I use Tropi-care's Microfiber detailing towels, as well as their polishing towels. But I have not tried microfiber to dry yet.

I am going to give a Waffle Weave a shot next Spring. I have been hearing great things about them.

We recommend and sell the Tropi-Care TC-M3 Waffle Weave drying towel. Convenient 24" x 30" size for $9.99 + shipping.

It's extremely absorbent that it holds nine times it weight in water. A deep textured lint-free towel with micro-hooks to grab, lift and hold dirt away from the paint surface.

Edge trim is an optical microfiber fabric which also will not scratch the paint surface.

Available at www.tropi-care.com or order toll-free at (866)-478-7237.

:p 6 months...... I used mine for over 8 years! I just switched to an Micro Fiber Waffle Weave. I still use the Absorber though... on the door jams, inside the trunk and under the tail lights.

Waffle Waeve Microfiber. The Absorber is to sticky for me. Waffle weaves are much smoother and easier to work with.
