What does snow/wet mode do, exactly?

Yesterday we received a torrential downpour of rain in IL on my way home. Knowing I could drive without the wet mode on, I figured I'd switch it over just to feel the difference. The car definitely feels a lot less powerful, and just felt a bit more 'tankish' so to speak. This car is my DD, and I've seen the videos of how well these do in the snow. Does this mode just put traction control on steroids and limit the power or does it do more than that?

Needless to say I was impressed how the car handled with the mode off in pouring rain, but figured I'd turn it on to test it out. I'm looking forward to seeing how well this truly does in the snow, granted IL is such a hit and miss and usually fairly light snow (1-3")

Changes throttle opening. The normal mode throttle matches the pedal position, sport/track do more (i.e. 50% pedal=62% throttle) and snow/wet does the opposite (50% pedal=38% throttle), it also has the stability control work sooner, doesn't let the tail hang out as they say.
