What does this cable do???

I bought my car from a dealer specializing in performance cars, but they didn't have a complete list of mods the car had on it, so I am going through it trying to find everything. In the glove box I found this cable " says SCT Rev 1" that has a computer plug on one end, and the other end has a switch with 8 different settings on it. The car has an aftermarket tune, but what does this cable do? Anyone?

sounds like a chip....cable is to reprogram the chip I believe.

The cable is used to select the particular tune you want to run. The SCT chip can hold more than one tune and the switch is used to select the tune.
Check the PCM, located behind the passenger side kick panel, to see if the car is actually running a chip.
