3.73:1 has been a pleasure to drive in and around the city and on the highway...

Any new opinions or observations on this?

My rear is a bit noisy and now starting to leak a bit. I want a gear that is still good for open track events plus a bit lower for overall drivability around the city. If changing the gears anyway on warranty, it may be a good time to swap in some 3.73's or 3.90's ???

I voted for 3.55's. When I do get around to uping the power, I think that will be plenty steep enough w/o making first gear useless.

i went with 373's on my 98 gt, i should have gone with 410's. the overdrive was enough to handle the 410's easily.
since we have a 6th gear could the cobra handle more than the 410's and still be ok on the highway? the gears made all the difference in the world on my other car. and if i could get the same performance gains in this car i would do it in a heart beat.

I run 4:10's and now that I'll be running 9500-10,000 rpm all the more reason not to go to 3:90's which I had planned to do,Dave Smilovic

I'm thinking about 3.73s, but not for performance reasons. One thing I liked about my 2000 GT w/ 3.73s was that I could be creeping in 1st in traffic and be able to put it into 2nd while going 5-10mph ish and not have the engine bog. Can't do the same thing with the Cobra and 3.55s. I know the T56 has a taller 1st gear than a T45, but I hope it'll help a bit. :D

Black306, thats exactly what I've been thinking also. The driveability in slow city trafic should be better and easier on the clutch. Performance overall should also be better!
