The BEST oil to use in the 03/04 Cobra is "5-50" Synthetic!!! This is the OIL that Ford uses in the Ford GT and the Shelby GT 500!! I use Castrol Syntec SAE 5w-50 in my Cobra and Ford GT !!

At 4500 miles switched from Motorcraft 5w-20 to Mobil-1 5w-20 with M-1 filter. Because of documented problems with heat problems in these engines, I don't want the dealer to deny any potential warranty coverage for using non-recommended viscosity oil. I don't race the car, so I don't see any problems with 20-weight.
