So after spending some more time with my new Corsa Sports, I’m gonna have to do something to tone them down a tad. That rasp around 2500 or so is where it becomes too much.

what resonators are you guys using with success? Will they tone out the unsavory things with having an open exhaust?

I had Vibrant SS 18" resonators installed shortly after after having SW LT's installed WITH SW cats ending with Corsa Touring mufflers on the sound end. This combination synergistically work well together and only loud when you want it.

Without the resonators it was way too loud ( for me) at mid throttle, but after resonator install the tone was much more tasteful at low to 3,800 +/- rpm, even reasonably quiet at start up and pulling away from the house .

At WOT it is still very loud since the Vibrants and Corsa's are both flow though in design.

Hard to say exactly the outcome without cats , others without cats may chime in.. I noticed a definite improvement and the cost was reasonable at $120 or $130 from my regular exhaust guy, but that was 5 years ago.

Even though my car sits low, no ground clearance issues are noted and all fits well and tasteful underneath.

Thanks for the info! I was gonna ask about ground clearance too as the vibrants are 4”.

I assume the 18” has more toning ability due to being longer? I was looking at the 12” ones.
This thing is just unbearable around 2300-3k range with rasp.
It’s actually pretty pleasant under 2k though. WOT is just a whole diff game.
I think I can live with it though if that 2-3500 area is cleaned up.
Going up hills at low load is just killer. Lol

I suggest 18" over 12" because there is plenty of room for them. Over the years being a member here and the Team Shelby forum since 08 , I found 18" resonators only being used, and don't ever remember reading of someone adding shorter ones, however, there are probably some GT 500 owners who have.

thanks. I’ve heard of s550 guys running the 12”. Wasn’t sure if there was clearance issues with the 18”
I will deff look into them. Hopefully they put the tone where I want them to be.

I was going to do this before just swapping mufflers. 18”x4” was the ones I was looking at.

Just for rant, I decided not too, as I read on other forums they collect condensation and sometimes the change went both ways, good or bad. I read they can do well, depending on the set up. I just didn’t want to start throwing money at my exhaust, just to turn around and change it all over again.

I would love to hear them on yours, maybe it will change my mind, and I’ll make the switch later in the summer.

I have been looking at the Vibrant's as well. Amazon has them pretty reasonable. I have waaaay too much drone from 1600-2100RPM. I have them saved and these are the one's I had been looking at but it looks like they are the 12inch.

Any pics of where you mounted?
    No clearance issues at all?

you can probably drill weep holes in them as well to avoid the water thing.
I have literally never seen weep holes until getting these mufflers. Apparently it’s a thing. Lol
