I bought a 03 project a few months ago. It has under 70k miles. From what I understand it burnt up one of the back cylinders and was rebuilt 30k or so miles ago with upgraded pistons. It also has a ported Eaton.
Anyways, I have $10k to sink into it. I want 700hp by the end of the year. I'm not gonna race it, just drive it.
Right now the plan is to take it to kurgan Motorsports to have them install their cams, and some kooks headers while they have the motor out. Then I'll have them do a fore return style fuel system with fic1000 injectors and a tune. Then at a later date I'll add a Whipple 2.9, and wade at kurgan says that'll be right around 700hp.
I'd rather do all the work myself, but have no means or space to pull the motor at home.
So, I was just thinking instead of all that I could do the fuel system and injectors, headers and midpipe and Whipple in my garage instead, then take it for a tune for the same amount of money and have them do the cams later...
I'm looking for feedback on what I should do with my $10k budget.
