What type trans fluid

Friend is swapping out trans. and I told him to change the trans. fluid afterward. He asks what type....I dunno...what type do yall suggest. It's a Tremex 5 speed going in a 5.0 , believe a 89 model. Thanks for any info. to get me out of a jam.
