You're the only delusional one if you go by book value and think that a car with under 1000 miles is worth the same as one with 40000 miles. I wonder what's the book value on a 93 cobra? Goodluck finding one for book value......

Book value and what Joe Blow is willing to spend on something are two entirely different things.

A car is truly only worth whatever someone is willing to pay you for it, but I personally have never paid over book value for any car I've ever purchased hence the reason I responded to your thread stating the most I'd pay would be book value.

Get over it.

Exactly. And I'm willing to pay a premium for a 500 mile car that is all original and flawless as opposed to a daily driver that has been through hell and back.

Mustangs and book value don't really go together. Any fox that is in respectable condition will NOT go for book value. Same with Cobra's and Mach's. You can think book value means something...but it only means something to a dealer (who use something called black book value I believe).

For example - I had an 89 fox. Book value on it was $2,000. It sold for $5,000. It is true that price is only decided by what someone is willing to pay - but when the mass majority is willing to pay over book value - then book value doesn't mean squat. Any special Mustang will pull more than book.

i just bought my azure blue '03 mach 1 a month ago for $21k with 1400 miles. It is absolutely flawless, it has only seen a couple of sunny days and was stored in a temperature controlled garage, on a lift, and with a car cover covering it.

i wouldn't pay over 20k... I got my mine with 20k miles for 16.5k. I also was looking at one with 15k for 17k, but didn't have a warranty. Does the one your looking at come with a warranty?

I got mine from a dealer with 19k miles on it for $19k with the factory warranty and a extended warranty til 70k miles.... at the time the bluebook on the car was 24k from a dealer. So I'd probably pay about $20k for a Mach that has 1000 miles on it, considering it doesn't have a warranty anymore....

^Are you guys for real? 16K for a basically brand new mach? If that was the case, what would the average 30K-40K mile car be worth, under 10 grand:rollseyes?

An '03 Mach with 40,000 miles in excellent condition is worth around $16,375 private and $17,275-$18,550 from a dealer.

This is the only time I will be agreeing with Black Mach 1. Shop around.

I bought my 2003 in feb 2005 for $19,000 with 11,000 miles on her. I must admitt the dealer really did not realize what they had.

There is a zinc yellow 03 Mach with about 22K on the clock with a Kenny Bell that is in Cherry conditon over on the registry right now for apx $23,000. Now thats a deal.

for you guys who say 16-18 and are going by the kbb are idiots. kbb doesnt mean shit. the condition(with 1k i would imagine perfect)that car is easily worth over 20k. i wouldnt be suprised if it sold for over 25k.alot of people think i paid too much for mine but it was the color i wanted and the condition i wanted. i bought my 2004 comp orange mach with 14k miles bone stock immaculant condition for 22k. i didnt have to go cross country either like i did for my cobra.

you can pretty much ask whatever you want on mustangs as long as you have taken care of the car as well as kept them maintained.

Keep in mind i do not mean you can ask 25K for a 14k car :rolling:

Try doing a little research before you try and inform people and call them idiots. These cars can easily be found for book value. This example below took me less than a minute to find with a single search.

2004 Mach 1 - 4,300 Miles - Excellent Condition

I wouldn't pay over $16,725 from a private seller or $18,900 from a dealer.

The car in question has 500 miles on it. You stated you wouldn't pay over $16,725 for it private party according to "book value". The mach on ebay is 19K private party with 4300 miles (which is still an amazing deal). Book value doesn't mean shit!!!!!!

Just because I wouldn't pay for it doesn't mean it isn't a good deal, right? I posted it because it's under $19,000, low mileage, and in very good condition.
