Whats a strong trans for a 408w!

Hey hey, I just recently picked up a 89 notch with a 351w bored and stroked to a 408W. It currently has a C6 trans in it but how ever I would prefer a 5 speed or 6 speed in it. It was a 5 speed car before so all pedals and such are still in the car. Any advice is helpful! What manual trans would be best?!

T56 is best route but the ones put of termis. But they are $$$. I have a tko600 built by hanlon which is a 5spd and pretty stout.

However upgrading to a fb aod now for the turbo swap.

Depends on your plans. If you are going to drag or OT, then I would go with a TKO600. Street driving a T56.

T5 with a Astro gear kit and mainshaft upgrade will hold 600ft/tq . With the new carbon blocker ring on all four gear , can be shifted up to near 7000 . Light weight as a stock T5 , shift smooth like a T5 . TKO was good but shift like a tractor .

Ive got a GForce behind my 408... Its regeared 1-4 with 5th gear as the overdrive. 26 spline... No problems at all.
