I'am in the process of replacing my passenger side wheel bearing after smoking it at Road Atlanta.I have everything broken down to the hub but I'am having trouble with the nut holding the hub on the spindle.Anybody got a good idea how to loosen this thing? The thing won't budge with a breaker bar and WD-40?:gt:

Ok I have had this happen on a Coupe I once owned.

The process you need to follow..

You will need get a propane torch and heat the area up for period of time so that you can break it loose..

What has happened is it is almost welded together. The outter surface got hot enough to start the weld.

once it is hot break it over with an impact wrench or a long breaker bar..

Once that is done you will have to evaluate the surface of the shaft the bearing rides on.

Hope this helps.

I eventually got the job done using a breaker bar and a 3 foot section of 1.75 DOM tubing for leverage. The torque specs on the nut are 250-295 ft/lbs............Glad this doesn't happen all the time.
