out of the box 03-04.

Worked over they are all the same. If you can pick up a cheaper 01 and swap axles that would work.

Did that file work? Did you get my email?

Don't forget a Billetflow IRS brace if you do not already have one.

Cool. Your best bet IMO would be just to rebuild yours.

New 31 spline diff and might as well do gears while you are in there. Then some 03-04 takeoff's or some aftermarket ones..

they will definitely handle a lot of abuse. i ran my stock 99 irs w/ my eaton for about 4 months. no problems at all. i think Double"O" (Kenne Bell) ran his stock 01 shafts for quite sometime(he may still be on them now).

99-01 = 28 spline
03-04 = 31 spline

All the internals on the 03-04 are upgraded, including a 31 spline Differential/t-lock with carbon fiber clutches.

The 05-07 GT's also come with that same 31 spline diff (oh, and their axle shafts are 31 spline as well)

Yeah Double O is still on the '01 shafts. Only the '99 shafts are 28 spline on the insde at the differential. The 01,03,&04 are all 31 spline at the differential. The 99,01,03,&04 are all 28 spline at the hub. Just a little info I learned that I did'nt know. Launch with a little slip and not pop the clutch and you'll do well.

The 99,01,03,04 are all 28 spline at the hub where your wheel goes. The '99 is 28 spline at the differential. The 01,03,04 is 31 spline at the differential. I could'nt believe that little bit of info when I found that out, but I guess it's true. Oh the '03 & '04 shafts are supposed to be stronger, that is all I have ever heard, but I have both set's of '03 & '01 shafts and I could'nt tell them apart other than knowing which shaft is which. One other item you will want is a '03-'04 Cobra brace, the '99-01 brace is not as good and you can tell a difference when you get the '03-04 brace in the car. Hope this helps.

#1.
I've had stock half-shafts since the car was new.
Wheel hop is the issue,
It really doesn't matter if you have stage 100 half-shafts.
Fix the IRS first.
Apex installed Derlin and other tough bushings.
That's the place to address first.
