I am trying to figure out which one right now, on a low budget.
I can't afford a whole kit at this time and definitely can't afford a MM k and need one right now, so was trying to decide between the upr chromoly k or the granatelli and use my stock arms with some spring perches and just buy everything else when I can.

Main question is there still issues with the GMS k's or have they gotten better lately?
It won't be a big deal if they still are having issues with the welds as I am a welder by trade but would prefer to avoid the situation or any other ones they may still be having.

Look into Team Z. I have ran UPR on 3 of my cars with no issue yet if that helps any. I am going to get the Team Z kit this winter to swap out my UPR. I have nothing bad to say about UPR. GMS I have no idea about there is a guy on Corral with the GMS kit in his road race car with no issue and he has beaten the snot out of it

Honestly if you can I would save longer and get an MM setup if you can wait. They will most likely have their deal of the day this Decemeber and what ever they put up drops %20.

If you can't or don't want to wait I would really ask yourself what you intend to do with the car. Is it a 1/4 mile car? I'd go UPR. Is it a car you want to turn corners with? I'd go GMS.

As far as the welding on the GMS k. I believe they have cleaned them up a lot. It's not top notch but it is a far cry better then the india made crap they used to have years ago when it looked like 5 year olds were doing the work. Plus the GMS K is a copy of the MM K and braced in a way that there would have to be multiple failures in order for it to come apart. When you look at the upr piece you don't see that same bracing because its ment for 1/4 mile junkies.

Just my .02 cents.

I do a little bit of both drag and corners every now and then but mostly just drive it every day.
Thanks for all input guys.
I definitely can't hold off for a mm kit unfortunately, that'd be my dream setup though. I have a couple of bolts on my lt's that decided to backout and fall out and it's leaking real bad so got some locking header bolts I'm putting on and gotta drop the k so figured I'd swap to tubular while I was at it but can only afford a k-member and no one has a cheap full kit.

Look into the PA. You can bolt up the stock a arms with that unit and later you can get tubular a arms with coil overs when you are ready.

if its street driven stay with the stock k member and get a 4 point brace its only 20 pounds heavier and only $100 an a 20 min install. Spend money on full sub frame conectors, panhard bar, LCA, Tourqe arm, springs and tires. work your way from back to front, bottom to top.

just so you know stock A arms dont fit non- stock k members... unless you know what to cut an grind off. GMS is total miss its shotty work with bad welds (looks like someone was just learning to weld) may not be squarded when bolted in and copies the MM k member. MM is a street cert k member just bolt in square it up an go no mod needed and is a nice peace of mind for just $300 more, all of these k membes are made for track use so if it fails your not gonna be able to sue anyone for money because a weld failed. Would you really risk totalling your car or hurting someone esle because of $300?

Never heard of a touch up weld???? The K member is the most important piece in the front of you car holds your engine, and whole front suspenion, if thats off or fails everything else will.

Upr is a better choice if money is tight but is for straight line, its not made for corners or normal street driving.

Ive had all three of these k members in my cars and been welding for a few years not saying im the greatest but I know what welds looked like when I was starting off and unless your taught the right way your just gonna keep on making bad welds no matter how many years you have been doing it.

Ive only had the MM, UPR an GMS k members so there the only ones im gonna talk about. Yes my ""FRIENDS"" or ""people I may know""or ""someone online that ive never talked to be for in person"" have other k members but im not them so Im not gonna talk for them.

Oh an building a mustang isnt cheap, from what your sig says your looking at over $25K
