Which paint for S/C?

I am going to port the sc and paint it as well as the t/b and plenum. I will be painting it red. Is heat an issue or will regular automotive paint work, also should I clear coat the paint. Some paint doesn't work well with clear coat.

I used the same paint that is used on the truck body. Dupont E4

No I did not use primer. It has lasted for 3 years so far.
