the picture is the gen 1

you can tell because there is no sight glass on the front for the oil level.


however pictures can be deceiving. the gen 1 has not been made in years from my understanding

so if you order it you would probably get a gen 2

Not to thread jack or anything, but Brian those are nice valve covers, did you pick those up some where? Or have the stockers powder coated?? I can't wait til I can afford a Whipple!!! Some day!!!

I took my stock ones to my power coater. I then got the blue from www.powderbuythepound.com

I must stress that prep work on power coat is very important. the covers MUST BE media blasted first and then coated. if not the powder coat will start to bubble over time.

that part number is the ford racing one and its a gen 2

that is the same one I got 3 years ago.

again they stopped making the gen 1 a long time ago

Yeah the Gen 1 is long gone but there is nothing wrong with them. If you find one for a good price snatch it up, it makes the same power and they're both super reliable.

OP, If you are looking for a gen2 Whipple 2.3 give Mike R at Tousley Ford(AutoNation) a call. They had the best price around. I am not sure if they still have the best price on the 2.3 but it's worth a call. Here's the number 800-328-9552

When I was looking last month it was the lowest. Around 3100 shipped.
