Sir,
By 'stock' boost,do you mean 8 psi?
You would have to underdrive a whipple with a pully the size of a saucer to get it to only put out 8 psi..The new ones make 15 psi with a 3.5" upper.
A 3.5 upper is as large as you can physically bolt on a Whipple before you zing the hood blanket..I guess you could run a small lower...
If you were to run a stock OE tune with a whipple...It would not be pretty.

That's strange. The whipple site has a stock dyno at 8 PSI and stock tune.

It's a little deceptive..What they mean by "stock" is a stock, factory tune Cobra vs a Whipple equipped Cobra with the stock-sized pully. The Whipples are shipped with 3.5" pullies, coincidentally the same diameter as the one Ford installed on the Eaton..
The power numbers are right on for a 15psi Whipple with no other mods besides the ones to make it work.

Now I'm really confused. Assuming the pulley is the same, and assuming the whipple is producing 15 psi, why is the power not in the mid 500 RWHP range where it should be? How does this work with the engine if whipple requires larger injectors on anything > 13 PSI?

:??:

The numbers are probably for an older 13 psi unit...& the test car probably has stock exhaust & no CAI..Just the basics. At that level, even your stock injectors & MAF might work, but they'd be on the ragged edge, especially the MAF.They probably tuned the test car with minimal ignition timing also.
A new whipple, with normal bolt ons IS a 550 RWHP car at 15 psi..

That would explain the jaggy HP measurements.

Still makes no sense. If Wipples (every time I hear this name I think of something nasty  ) are designed to run at 8 psi, why would this setup not work correctly with the stock tune? :??:
