I've been to Road America the fall of 99 and I can say from personal experiance that you will not be wasting your time. Be sure to get a map of the track and if it's your first time bring a passenger-spotter it really helps. Also check out the Northwoods Shelby Club last year they had a four day event @ Road America.Including Touring-Autocross,it's a great time. For more info E-mail Gary Hammann's @ [email protected] All Fords are welcome

Mine is a daily driver from spring to late fall. It gets driven in the rain too. It sees autocross duty monthly and two to three open track events a year.

Have only had mine for about a month and a half, put in a pro 5.0 power tower, and when my income tax check comes in, it's open season. I'll be getting the PHP IRS brace to control the wheel hop (though I'm not sure if that will make the vibe worse, cause right now it's not very noticeable), and definitely a set of flows like I had on my 95 GT (love that sound). I might also get the BBK long-tube/Cat H-pipe setup, and probably some pullies. I've read some negative feed back about the twin 62mm T/B, so I think I'll skip that, at least for now. I plan to drag as soon as the strip opens up and if there were any road racing events going on anywhere near here, I would do that also.
I don't go easy on it just because it was expensive. Why have 320 horses (or more) and not use every last one of them?

I drive my Cobra everyday pretty much. I bought my car to drive and ENJOY it, rare or not. (and it is rare)
I enjoy modifying it and making it faster, and I will never sell it under any condition. Part of me wouldn't mind seeing it in showroom condition again and not driven, but I enjoy playing in it too much!!

I agree with SVT2TOP. I beat the piss out of my car and have been doing it for the last 5 years. Last year was the first year I actually started racing her. But she's gonna see plent of action this summer. Drive your car the way it was supposed to be driven. Late

My Cobra is a daily driver right now. I would say 95% of the time I don't drop past 5000 RPM's at WOT for just normal driving. The only time I drive like a granny is in the rain. And I race every chance I get.

I drive mine year round except when there is snow, ice or salted roads. I got the car in Sept of '97. If you want to get specific it is more rare than the Mystic car unless your that person (I think there was one ) who got theirs w/cloth, and with my cloth option/color, rarer than all 3 of the Rmodel years (yet I doubt any of those guys will trade me)

. The car has 45,000 miles on it - mostly with the mods and runs great. I would love this car to be one of those sissy "Trailer Queens" but it is my main car. I don't beat the piss out of the car & keep it as clean, updated as anyone on this site. Oh yeah this car sits outside 365 days a year.

Well, I've daily driven mine hard from day one. I have 130,000 mi on the clock, drive in rain shine or snow. Cobras make great snowmobiles.

I don't recall ever starting the car up without spinning the tires. I do, however maintain the car religiously.

I've had 3 superchargers on it and a nitrous kit. I'm on my 2nd motor, built by Ford Performance Solutions. I've had the car to the track very little because there are lots of very fast street cars here to play with. (several 9 and 10 second cars)

I've never wrecked the car or even gotten parking lot dings. However, the "gorillas" who work on the car have put a few scratches on it. :-(

I've never blown up a part on the car, probably because I've never had slicks on it. I just recently got a set of Nitto drag radials.

I don't plan on ever getting rid of the car. I hope I get 500k mi on it.

Mayby someday I'll get a low mileage garage queen and transfer my drivetrain into it.

I've had mine for less than a year. Its a daily driver for me as it's my only car. I've been driving it real hard lately. Two speeding tickets this spring so far, which I'm not proud of neither can I really afford it. I plan on attending an auto cross race in a few weeks and a run to the drag some time soon.

Mine is a daily driver, open-tracker, autocrosser, drag racer in that order from Easter to Thanksgiving.

I've put 45,000 miles, and about 7 track days (mostly Road America), plus autocrosses and drags in 3 years.

Does that qualify?

I am glad some people drive there cobra,s. I was feeling left out. I was tired of here these guys bragging about there low miles on there cobra's. Hell they were meant to drive. I have to admit mines is a garage queen now but it was not always. I bought it with 130k. In excellent shape. I now have 133K. But when I do bring her out the whole neighborhood here's it. I smoke my tires every change I get.:)

Here's what I do. i find a high mileage stang in excellent condition, currently my 95 cobra. Do the basic mods., while saving for a new built motor, and take really good care of the interior and body. But since the drivetrain has so many miles, I don't feel bad about beating the piss out of it. It's only got so much left anyway!! Then when It does break, i grab my backup finances and put in bigger and better parts. This way there is little or no car payment and I can dump the money into new toys for it!! By the way, my current original cobra engine has 140,000 miles on it, and It doesn't burn a lick of oil. It maintains full compression!!!! The only problem I ever had was a leaking rear main seal!! But all the 5.0s have that problem after about 50,000 or so miles. Anyway, that's my 2 cents. So yeah, I beat the piss out of mine!!

I hit 120 mph the day I brought it home (brand new) from the dealership and I street race it every time an opportunity arises. It just turned 1200 miles, so this Friday (after an oil change) I'll be heading to the dragstrip for some 1/4 mile times. I also intend on taking it to Limerock this year for some track time. SVT designed this car to be driven and I intend to live up to their expectations!
