Hey guys my question is why does my truck tend to knock or tick during the cold weather. I started it up yesterday for the first time in a week and it knocked so i let it idle for maybe ten minuits and it quit the knocking all together. Has anyone else had this happen.

I dont know a whole lot about the situation but i had an 03 silverado that would do it when it was first started and it ran fine. my L hasnt done it, but maybe it just isnt cold enough yet, beats me. Fade2Black should know. He's a lightning genius.

well i come from the world or rangers, and in fords lovely 4.0 v6 there are big problems with the timing chains and tensioners... my L ticks alittle when its cold to but it usually goes away or is less noticeable when the engine warms up... but i would say you have nothing to worry about... but i havent dont take my word it might be something else too... but more than likely its just the timing chain... btw how many does the 5.4 have?
