Why does it weigh 4000lbs??

A S281SC saleen weighs about 3400lbs. How come a GT500 is just about 4000?? A 06 GTO is 3700 and its a boat. What did they add to the GT500 to make it so heavy??? Im NOT making fun of it, im just wondering why its so heavy.

First off, it DOES NOT WEIGH 4000#. MY SHELBY WEIGHED 3850 ON THE SCALES AT THE TRACK AND I HAVE THE SHAKER 1000. And saleen's weigh more than that. They are more like 3550-3600#.

saleen = 3V 4.6 aluminum block and 5 speed trans
shelby = 4V 5.4 iron block and 6 speed trans

the 07 gt500 weighs 400lbs more than the 07 mustang gt. the 07 gt500 drivetrain alone weighs 350lbs more than the 07 mustang gt drivetrain.
