Ever since I got this car the broken wiper cowl has killed me to look at. Stock pieces are expensive and prone to the same breaking and cracking this one has suffered.
After searching for good used with no luck I took a chance on a carbon fiber covered fiberglass one off ebay. It arrived today and damn it looked great. Installation is a pain in the ass to some extent but not too bad. You need to reuse your rubber stripping, I crazy glued it to the new piece....worked well. Fit at the fenders could be better but overall I really like it. It is very subtle on the DSG which I like, and not having to look at several cracks anymore is fantastic.

looks very sweet. how much was it? I was considering one of those last year, or the year before when someone on here was having them made in real CF. My cowl is in perfect condition, but I was thinking of doing one of those just to preserve my original and have a cool looking part to run in the meantime.

was almost $200, this one is real carbon fiber, it takes some finish work to go on the car but happy with it. If your cowl is in good shape don't touch it! I don't think it's possilble to get a stock one off in one piece.

I didn't take a picture of the back side, it was fiberglass with the carbon top layer. It doesn't have the clip's, only the 3 holes for the push pins at the hood seal. I used a expandable insert and screws in the hood seal area, that drew it down well and it is secure.

I need a new cowl (and the piece on the firewall under it as well). Do you know if they make that other piece in CF also? Are you still happy with the cowl itself?

how secure is it using just the 3 push pins? I'd be worried about it rattling around if it's just secured at the front and not held down in the middle or rear.

Still love it and haven't had the least bit of rattling or movement from it, I can't possible see how it could go anywhere. Smile every time I look at it and it's something that every other Mustang doesn't have, which is rare.
