I bought it about 6 or so months ago. I bought it pretty built but I'm going to school for collision repair and we got to bring in a project. So I brought in my Lightning for a makeover. It has no rust at all, just had paint chipping from a shitty single stage garage job and shitty early 90s stamping so it was pretty wavy. It has a 408W stroker, AFR 205 heads, custom grind cam, built C6 tranny, and its tubbed with a 4-link.

Here's how it looked the day I brought it into the shop.

And no I didn't actually tow with it, it was a joke with my buddys broken Camaro

First task was to shave the front fuel door since it was taken out for the 4-link

This is the most recent picture I have, this was a few weeks before Christmas. I'm finishing priming and starting to wetsand this week.

Ill keep you guys posted as it progresses, were only in the shop for a few hours a day so I'll post them as I get stuff done. I plan on going Torch Red from the 03/04 Cobra. Let me know what you all think about it and any ideas on what else I should do cosmetically before it's done!

Started out with a great lookin truck, and making it better! If you are planning on going FI anytime soon I would get the powerstroke bumper. I wish I had the time and place to do what you are doing. Hell, I wish I had the skills to do that period haha

What size rims are those? And do you have the DJM drop beams in front?

Looks like you are doing some nice work. Looking forward to seeing it done because it should look nice. I think the gen 1 trucks are much better looking.
