didn't know where else to post this, but anybody out there know anything about worm gears for speedometers?
here's situation: have a 1995 ranger 3.0 (i know.....not a F-150) that the speedo stopped working. from my understanding this is a common malfunction from factory around this year............gear disintegrates.
question is compatibility------------pulled from cluster is part #fdm-2 but found at junk yard part #fdm-4. all wiring and connectors look identical.
anybody with input...............is it ok to use #fdm-4 ?!?
any feedback greatly appreciated.
