'03 Black SVT 10th Anniversary Cobra... what a dog!
Well, bone stock, 1900 miles on it 78 degree temp... 1/4 et. 13.5-13.6, 60ft 2.1.
It needs a hell of a lot of work. I love the car but it's a dog.
My '02 Lightning was a dog too, 14.1, 1/4et but after a ton of money
10.84, 1/4et, with 643 rwhp and 773 rwtq.
This time though I am trying to be semi good, I will just do enough to get into the 12's. This time I mean it.

I think you need some practice (no flame intended) I ran consistent 13.1 - 13.3 in stock trim here in Vegas (2000+ elevation) on a HOT ass day, like 95deg +.... also your 60ft times needs work, even with stock tires, they are capable of faster times.

I will try to make it but may not run it... no need to give Cobra's a bad name

The times were so bad I let a friend who ran a 9 second Cobra get the numbers I posted. He's run Stangs for years.

Looks like the car is driving you.

My first pass was a 13.6. After 30 or so runs I got it down to a 12.5. I watched an 03 with a catback and drop in K&N run 3 12.5s last weekend.

My first time in my '03 was 13.1. My second time out with it I ran 12.8. Learning how to launch the IRS takes some time, I think.

My first run in the Cobra was a 13.6 - no joke. And I had about 25 runs on the track with my 00 GT, so I wasn't a newbie. With practice and learning how to launch these cars, I brought the time down to 12.904@108 (did add a densecharger by then though...) These cars are hard to launch and takes quite a bit of finesse to get off the line good, but can be done.

Practice, Practice, Practice!

Believe me, better launch or not there wasn't anything in 2nd or 3rd to be had.

I also see more in the low to mid 13's in my area from the 03's. Just don't get it. A friend with a 9 second 86' GT, has had stangs his whole life and after 3 times to the track in his 03' has only got a 13.2 best.

If he went to Milan, that's about right. Everbodys times there are up to half a second slower than other tracks around the country. I've seen LS1s get into the high 13's if they're lucky.

WHAT???? I would say for $34k this car is more than what it is hyped up to be! Rated at 390 and it easily pushes 420 in reality - stock. Add a few bills for a CAI and exhaust and you are pushing 430 AT THE WHEELS - that makes it about 510 at the crank. Runs and pulls new Z06's with small bolt on's (meaning pre-pulley and chip). Gets 16 miles per gallon in the city. I really don't know how you can make that statement.

If I got one and it didn't go 12.90's stock I would surely be upset as well.

Im sorry, but going from a GT to an 03 Cobra is like learning how to walk again. There is no way in hell you can compare driving them on the track. I know, I had a GT. I know you might have the track experience, but that was with the GT.. you are talking about 260hp at the crank motor to a 420 hp at the crank motor.. totally different. Not to mention different transmissions, rear ends, etc, etc

I completely disagree with you on this comment.
You find me a car (off the showroom floor) with the average price of the Cobra (35k) that runs low 13's to high 12's STOCK! Its been said on plenty of magazines that say the same.

1/2 second off or more, with a 2.1 60ft NO WAY! Car should still get its a$$ up and go a 13.00 if you have a clue, shouldn't it? IMO.
