I think cashiers checks take about 3 days to actually show up in your account, so maybe he is waiting for that.

Oh, ok. I was told by my bank that they are same as cash anywhere. How ridiculous! What's the purpose of even getting a cashier's check then? May as well be a personal check for that matter...

a cashiers check is as good as cash man, as long as the routing numbers and account numbers match....its done.

I wouldn't worry 3k is enough to go to court over, you can find anyone online through IPs, cashing the cashiers check ect. File the paperwork the courts will find him
