strange, i'm subscribed to this thread but dont see a comment from me.
Even more strange... i believe i did leave a comment with great information about comparing numerous filters of a 300 forum.

Did my post get deleted?

I read your post, so you did post. I would have to go back to see if it was deleted.

Ive got a 1998 GT, change the oil every 3000 to 4000 miles and use motorcraft oil filters with castrol oil. Car has 214,000 miles on it and never have had any engine problems yet.

Looking to see if theres any truth to the EAO11's. subbed

100% truth. I've torn them apart myself, and so did the guy in this video. Listen to the comments he makes about the filter when doing his own filter cut open testing.

Now watch this video from a Purolator filter. It's close to the same filter as the FL820 MotorCraft

Now watch this cut open video of a Royal Purple filter. It's more expensive, and you are getting a better "woven fiber" synthetic media with metal backing (like the Amsoil, but a different type of fibers). Where the RP filter falls short, it still has a small silicone anti-drain back valve, and the cheaper stamped "leaf spring", not a heavy coil.

as Sid has already stated, you get what you pay for.

So you're suggesting Amsoil has the overall edge over RP? Thanks for the vids btw, never saw them before.

It has the edge, and is built better than anything I have ever seen. I will say this though....this filter was designed to be the best, to last the longest, and filter better than any other screw on oil filter built to date. This doesn't mean that you can't get great results buying a cheaper filter. I was only backing up Sid's statements that you "get what you pay for".

Thanks for the analysis.

The Amsoil is def one of the better ones, but a bit on the expensive side.

Sid, Amsoil preferred customers can buy them for $13.15, and that's competitive with Royal Purple's filter. It's a better built filter for the same money.

The normal retail price on the EaO11 is $17.30

Thanks for starting the thread. I never knew Amsoil's filter was that highly regarded. Been running the Ford Racing FL820 and I'm switching after seeing this new data.

If you want the best filtration, yet still flow with the best, the Amsoil EaO11. It's confirmed to be 98.7% efficiency @ 15 microns. In comparison, the Ford Motorcraft FL820 is only 80% efficient @ 15 microns. I'm unsure about this spec for the Ford Racing 820 though.

Sid, do you have that spec?
