and for this year

Ford Racing has produced 10 new Hi Po Short Block for the coyotes. I was fortunate enough to be one of the ones that Ford has asked to test out the block for them.

The blocks basically have a smaller water jacket on the bottom of the block, on the top of the short block in the large water jacket, they have filled the center up.

At the type of power levels i'm running now, the block eventually gives at the top of the cylinder wall. This should hopefully help that.

This pic gives you a good idea.

New block from Ford. I had it sent directly to BES for tony to work some magic.

Tony decided on some custom Ross Pistons, and Manley I beam's. We also went with a Boss 302 Crank.

For the top half. We are putting on a set of MMR Racing's Stage 3 Boss 302 heads, along with MMR Stage 3 Custom Cam's.

They will be using their upgraded valves, valve springs, and retainers. We are also adding their new Sheetmetal Intake.

Thought i'd share some updates to the car.

Made it through FL with a new best of 8.74@159 with the car, setting the production coyote record at the time.

Next race @ Atlanta, the block cracked on us in the valley on the 2nd run.

We had MMR put together a pro mod bare 5.2L filled Pro Mod Shortblock. The block was sent to BES as usual for balancing and blue printing.

To step up the game on the car, we decided to cut some weight, about 275 lbs out of the car. We ditched the stereo, a/c, speakers, oem fuel tank and a few other odds and ends.

We went to a fuel cell in the trunk, along with a batter relocation with cutoff.

The fuel system is a Weldon 2345 with a Vortech BAP which should push the pump to 2400hp at the engine, or 1800 on e85.

We also added one of our Nitrous Outlet Dry Nitrous Kits.

A new radiator with custom cooling via the MMR head cooling mod and adapters was used. We can put some ice in the box for added cooling in the heads.

We also already had added an Alcohol Injection Systems Kit which we sell as well.

The car was moved from 3.31 gears which we did over the winter, to 3.15's. It's looking like 3.08's will be needed very soon.

We only have 4 passes under our belt, with no good launches, and bogging to a 1.55 60', we went 8.77@166 mph. Hoping to test this weekend with much better e.t.'s.

The engine bay cleaned up very nicely and we got a lot of the "junk" out of the way.

The car has a much meaner stance now. We went to the BMR lowering springs in the rear, in place of the standard cobra jets. That allowed us to lower the front of the car down on the Strange Coil Overs.

With adding strange lightweight front brakes, we were able to go to a 15" wheel, which are weld magnums, and opted for a 28" tire to feel in the wheel well better. Gives the car a great stance.

A Sparco Steering wheel was added and all the factory air bags were deleted.

Our fabricator at Rogue Race cars did a couple of custom panels for the front of the car, and then I smoothed out the lower valance in the rear since the exhaust isn't coming out of the back anymore.

We also had some custom 2" headers fabbed up to help free up some airflow.

Rob also fabbed up a panel for the switches in the center console, and it turned out great. Brian finished off all the drilling, and cutting for the switches and gauges.

Brian @ Finish Line and me put a lot of time into the car over the last few weeks (after hours to not take away from customers cars), and I think it really paid off. This Friday we will take back the fastest 6r80 record, and maybe quickest production GT record, who knows. She's going to fly though.

And yes, I have a radiator cover coming. I ordered a new one to put on the car, and when I went to install it, they had sent me one for a 13.

Guess it's not a street car anymore. What made you go against everything you were preaching before? Needed to keep up with the competition?

It won't be as much of a street car, but I plan on driving it to work, and the cruise ins still.

Terry are you using M1 With your Meth kit?

no, lol, not the crazy stuff

Why 3.15's, no wonder it bogs.

??

Car will go mid 1.3's or better

it bogged because it wasn't stalled up at all

I plan on swapping to 3.08's before Joliet

with 3.15's with the 4.17 rear end, it's like having 4.56 in a 99-04 car....
